Largest city in New Zealand, located at north of North Island and at a similar latitude to San Francisco and Athens, the Auckland region enjoys a temperate climate with a typical summer (November to March) temperature range of 20ºC to 30ºC (daytime), and winter 10ºC to 17ºC (daytime).

The city lifestyle is intimately tied to the ocean, because it embraces two beautiful harbor, another name of Auckland ˇ§City of Sailsˇ§ properly describes its own character. Auckland hosted the America's Cup 2000, and 2002.The city is believed to have more yachts per head of population than anywhere else in the world. In summer, Aucklanders take to the outdoors, enjoying the city's many beaches, parks and pavement coffee. Queen Street is the main shopping area. The Edge on Queen Street is the heart of the city's arts scene, with the Aotea Center, Civic Theatre and Auckland Town Hall providing world-class venues for the performing arts.

The Population of Auckland is 1,173,018. Two-thirds of people of Asian ethnicity live in the Auckland region. In the Auckland region, 1 in 8 people are of Asian ethnicity, 1 in 8 of Pacific peoples ethnicity , 1 in 10 of Maori ethnicity, and 1 in 3 Aucklander were born overseas.
